Dream Big. Pay the Rent.

It's All About You...

You loved the book. You came to the conference. You sent us emails. We wrote you back. And now you're ready. You want more. More that pertains to YOU. How do you move to Chicago, Boston, New York or Los Angeles or [insert your city here] to pursue your career and pay your rent? How do you launch that new biz of yours in tough economic times? Our newest branch of Making It in the City will give you the answers you need by answering them personally, over the phone. We're not talking psychology here. This isn't about 'just doing it' or 'mind over matter.' You tell us how you're looking to 'Dream Big and Pay the Rent' and we'll come up with a personal map of how you can do it with practical tools such as finding health insurance, cheap places to live (with contact info), cover letters that kill, organizations that offer grants to people like you, ways to start your business on a shoestring, free marketing advice, top networking events in your area, best small business resources and more...stuff you can really take a bite out of.

What You Get

Each Making It in the City personalized consulting session includes a one hour initial phone conversation where we'll learn more about you. We'll ask you a host of questions, get some additional information about your financial situation, social needs and what, if anything, you've done to embark on your dream. Then we'll get to work. Give us a day or two and we'll get back to you with your personal Making It in the City success map, providing you with the tools, phone numbers, apartment rental companies (NO FEE!), business leads, phone scripts, contacts and resources specific to your goals. If you want additional sessions, we can work that out, too. But we think you'll have plenty to work with once we're through with you. It's like your own little dream seeking genie coming out of the bottle. Fee for one hour session plus personal map: $250.

A quick note to our parents out there:

Here's why you like us. We say everything you can't. Because if you did you'd be in a fight with your kid. We're just a little bit, well, cooler. Sorry, that's just the way it works. But we do a pretty good job of telling it like it is while providing coveted information plus the motivation your student needs to take the next step (read: get out of your house). Trust us on this one. If you're hitting yourself over the head wondering "Why won't s/he listen to me?" it's because you're the parent. That's why. Just keep on dreaming of that guest suite you always wanted to build. Hey, we've got your goals on our radar, too.
