About UsA little about our background...
Making It in the City was created by writer/producer Adina Kalish Neufeld after moving to New York City after college with no money, no job and no apartment. Quickly surmising there ‘had to be a way to make it’ without a trust fund, Adina started writing notes to herself which later became the fodder for her consumer oriented articles on survival. Her freelance pieces have since appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Glamour, Vodka and Mademoiselle magazines, in addition to numerous Web sites. Her first book, Making It in the City, a girl's guide to starting life on your own in a ridiculously expensive city you can't afford, was published in 2005. The book was turned into a live conference in 2006 with plans to travel nationwide in 2008. Personally, Adina is a true testament to what it takes to succeed without unlimited resources, finding back door approaches to landing apartments in expensive cities, getting high paying freelance jobs, and promoting her book, TV, and film projects on her own. Adina has a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.A. from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications. She's lived in New York City, Washington, D.C., St. Louis, Jerusalem, Durham, N.C., Syracuse, N.Y., and currently, Atlanta. |
